AUSTIN, TX - The Texas Association for Home Care & Hospice (TAHC&H) is pleased to announce a new partnership with Betterleave, a family caregiver engagement platform designed to help home care and hospice organizations strengthen communication, improve the family experience, and support caregivers throughout the care journey.

Family caregivers play an essential role in care delivery, yet many families can feel overwhelmed, underprepared, and disconnected from the organizations supporting their loved ones. Traditional outreach methods, including phone calls, printed materials, and reactive communication, can make it difficult for providers to consistently engage families, identify concerns early, and gather meaningful feedback.

Betterleave helps organizations connect with family caregivers where they already are: on their phones.

“We’re honored to partner with TAHC&H to bring meaningful family engagement throughout care and bereavement to more Texas providers,” said Cara Abbott, Founder and CEO of Betterleave. “This partnership reflects our shared commitment to helping care teams show up for families when it matters most.”

‍

Through proactive, conversational SMS messaging, Betterleave supports families from admission through discharge and, for hospice organizations, provides up to 13 months of continuous bereavement support. The standardized, compliant program allows providers to communicate with significantly more families in real time, identify potential care gaps before they become complaints, and gather feedback that can support stronger CAHPS performance, response rates, online reviews, referrals, and overall family satisfaction.

“TAHC&H is continually looking for resources and partnerships that help our members strengthen both the quality and sustainability of the care they provide,” said Rachel Hammon, Executive Director of TAHC&H. “Betterleave offers organizations another way to meaningfully engage families, gather actionable feedback, and provide ongoing support during some of the most important and difficult moments in their care journey.”

Betterleave is CHAP-verified and, for hospice providers, its bereavement program is designed to meet CMS bereavement requirements.
